Marriage License

Couples must obtain a marriage license from the state in which they will be married. No matter where you live, if you get married in Nevada, you must obtain a Nevada marriage license. No matter where you live, if you get married in California, you must obtain a California marriage license. A license can be obtained from any county office from within that state. Below are two South Shore options.

Nevada Marriage licenses are issued 6 days a week at the Douglas County Administration Building located at 175 Hwy 50, Stateline, NV 89449. Please review their website for details.

California Marriage licenses are issued 5 days a week at the El Dorado County Recorder-Clerks office located at 3368 Lake Tahoe Blvd #108, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150. Please review their website for details.
